For those of you who have told me that you can't differentiate who on this blog is one of my own children or who is just a client (or for those of you who complain that you just never see enough pictures of my children *cough* MOM! *cough*), here are a few recent pictures of my three kids:

Blue Cigars and Birthday Cake | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer
When I arrived at the hospital last Wednesday evening, there was a celebration going on! The room was filled with family and friends and the baby was resting peacefully on Mommy's tummy. As I took my turn holding little Ari, I said aloud, "Awww, we need another one of these." I say that every time I hold a newborn and I mean it every time. I just love babies.
I knew he would be a beautiful boy and he certainly is! Do you remember his Mommy's maternity shoot? I mean, how could two people like this NOT produce a beautiful child?? :)
AJ and Angel (and everyone else who's anxiously waiting), I hope you enjoy these pictures!

Oooo Pretty....
One morning about a month ago, my children and I were sitting around the kitchen table eating breakfast when suddenly my son (3 1/2) suddenly spouted out, "The flower torr wasn't open." Inquisitive about what he might be talking about, I prodded, "What flower store?"
"It wasn't open," he responded. When I asked again, he seemed to be getting upset that I didn't understand his plain and simple answer. "It wasn't open!" he said loudly. Okay, okay. I get it. The store was closed. By this time, I naturally assumed that my husband had taken the kids to the flower store to get me flowers while I was at Bible study last night but hadn't been able to because "it wasn't open".
"Who took you to the flower store?" I asked. A little voice (my 2 year-old daughter) piped in, "Daddy taked us!"
So the surprise was ruined. But I found it quite humorous. I mentioned it to my husband a few days later (after waiting to see if I would get any flowers the next day). I told him that you can NEVER try to do surprise things with toddlers. And ABOVE ALL, you can never EVER tell them not to say anything. That's like a signed certificate assuring you that they will open their mouth about the subject at hand. My husband told me that now he couldn't get me any for a while because they had ruined the surprise. I told him it was totally fine with me if I already knew, but apparently he's big on the surprise factor.
I had completely forgotten about the flowers, but when I came home on Tuesday I found these beautiful buds on my kitchen table! Now, I'm not really one who's into taking a million pictures of a geranium outside my back door or the daisy I walk past every day on my afternoon walk. BUT since it's somewhat of a rarity for me to have flowers on my kitchen table, I felt the need to take some pictures of them. :)

Just for Fun!
Several weeks ago I bought my 1.8 lens but I haven't really had much time to just play with it since I've been so busy. This afternoon, I suddenly decided that today was a good day to do just that, so I pulled it out, stuck in on my camera, and shot away. Here are my favorites:

We headed outside after a while where I was able to get the following images:

Did I mention that I'm totally in LOVE with this lens??

Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is a Nikon D80. (And a ShootSac would be nice too!) I'll leave you extra cookies. I promise.
I started in the kitchen. We've been working on puzzles lately and our most recent puzzle has about 400 pieces of blue sky. (Ugh!)

Sienna woke up right after I starting shooting, so I grabbed a few images of her. She's so adorably uncooperative. If she wasn't so cute I think it might upset me more, but come on....look at her!

Luke and Aiden | Indianapolis Child Photographer
On Saturday morning, I had the privilege of photographing two little cuties! Just 5 months apart, these little guys were definite balls of energy! They certainly gave me a run for my money. :) Here are a few of my favorites from their session...
(Please note the almost DEFINITE sign of a toy tractor in nearly every image!)

How was your weekend?
Hope you all had a great weekend. We chose to not take our kids trick-or-treating this year but rather to have some friends over for an evening of fun. My father-in-law dropped by too with some goodies (goodies being candy, of course). His wife made these adorable little buckets!

Can you believe it's November already? Because I can't! But I am PSYCHED for the holiday season. I can't wait to snag some Christmas images this year, since last year I didn't own a DSLR and, well, point and shoot cameras are just not that great at capturing Christmas lights in the dark. :)
Happy November, everyone!
