Texture - Yay or Nay?

I have been experimenting with textures in my free time (Ha! Free time!) and came up with this image from my last wedding. I'm undecided on how I feel about the texture. So it's up for discussion. What do you think?

Nay. I think the added texture takes away from the details of the photo. It makes the photo overall look somewhat "dirty" or smudged. Especially with a wedding photo of the bride, she should be center of attention and in the pic my eye goes straight to the texturing.

I think you should try it on a different photo...or turn that one black and white/Sepia. That picture is a little bright, so maybe try it on a different picture and it would look better.

I am not sure what I think about it. My first thought is that I don't love it, but I don't have an "eye" for photography.

I think texture is good if used sparingly. Let your images pop, but don't let the texture/action be the focus!
