Randy and Monica: Wedding

The day was sunny and clear, not a cloud in the sky. Before I even arrived at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park, I was struck by the beauty of the day. It was an absolutely perfect day for a wedding! Well, with the exception of one minor detail: It was HOT.

I started taking pictures around 1:30 and by the time the wedding started at 4:30, the minister, bride, and groom had agreed to shorten the wedding to about 15 minutes. Boy, was I glad they did!

The wedding was beautiful. Since Monica had two children of her own, Randy not only said vows to his dearly beloved wife but also to her two darling children. He vowed to love them and care for them and gave each of them a sign of his commitment to them: To her daughter, a ring, and to her son, a medallion.

At the end of the ceremony, they let several monarch butterflies fly into the air. Although I had heard of doves or other flying birds, I had never heard of butterflies. They took a bit of coaxing to get them out of the box, but then off they flew! It was beautiful!

The reception was absolutely gorgeous! White silk flowed elegantly over each table and each chair. Black and red rose petals were mixed with tea lights and floating candles to create a very romantic atmosphere.

As lovely and elegant as the wedding was, I was definitely ready to go home by the end of the night. It was hot, and I had a 1-hour drive back to our house. Since it is Labor Day weekend, my husband is home so I decided to put the editing on hold for a few days.

BUT.....since I know some of you have been dying to see some pictures, I took some time today to look over them and show you a few more. :) Here are some of my favorites.....
